First Post - A Thrown Lantern To Light A New Fire

Hello Dear Reader,

Thank you for visiting Soulink's Itch.io page!

This is my first Devlog, its mainly here to act as a test post. I will not be uploading the game file currently as I am still re-designing the character sheet for the 8th+++ time.  In fact, I would love to take this opportunity to talk about how Soulink started.

Soulink start several years back and have been on development ever since. It went through four complete renditions and I will be honest, I thought of giving up several times. However, I truly believe what I created have value to the ttrpg community. I do wish to publish Soulink globally one day and perhaps get listed with wizards of the coast or any big name publishers.

Soulink started with my love for dark souls and monster hunter but the unfortunate excuse of "gaming skills" I lack. Thus, I thought to myself why not create a system that can match the dynamic combat of dark souls but without the requirement of dexterous thumb and brains. After diving through the mass inflow of RPGs online such as torchbearer, blades in the dark and even the DARK SOULS THE RPG. I realized no RPG truly matched the dynamic combat of dark souls.

I did not want to roll dice to avoid getting hit by the asylum demon nor do I want to spend Stamina points to determine that I dodged an attack. I want to puzzled with whether I should dodge to the left or to the right or even forward. I wanted my combat to flow at every players turn. I wanted my players characters to dance and weave with the creature that toys with them. I wanted fun without rolling a dice.

That's how Soulink came about! Now now you must be thinking, that is sure alot of talk but are you sure your RPG delivers that kind of value...? I can't even download the PDF yet!

To that I say, hold on please!

I am incredibly excited to deliver to the world the baby which I've worked hard over the years. However, I want it to be clean and proper.  For now...here is a quick snip from the rule book that shows a small play-by-play of how Soulink works. <3 Note that this play-by-play example is focused on the specific mechanic of dynamic dodging but not covering how the combat works entirely.

Feel free to jump on Soulink Discord to chat me up or simply ask me anything.  Remember keep on hunting
